These concepts are capable of being adopted and tailored to support national interests that will successfully meet the needs of both strategic and tactical leadership echelons. In April 2006, the Deputy Secretary of Defense offered a definition of IW acknowledging that responses will require “the full range of military and other capabilities to seek asymmetric advantages in order to erode the adversaries’ power, influence, and will.” In order to support the requirements to address IW in all its forms, the Irregular Warfare Centre has developed specialized proprietary programs capable of the following: ■ Developing and empowering Irregular Warfare minded leaders in the public and private sectors; ■ Enabling the ability of leaders to understand complex operating environments and the human factor networks; ■ Developing leaders in a wide range of competencies required to successfully address IW requirements; ■ Assisting in the creation of collaborative fusion efforts across the public and private sectors; ■ Providing program direction to support the development of a fully interactive leadership corps capable of harnessing and maximizing the full power of American resources and ingenuity. The Irregular Warfare Centre's Mission program includes the following subject matter: ■ Irregular Warfare Leadership of the 21st Century – Life-Long Leader Development – Understanding Cultural Human Factors – Unity of Effort – Transitional Leadership ■ Operational Concepts ■ IW Battlespace Establishment and Shaping the Operational Environment ■ Intelligence / Counter-Intelligence ■ Enhanced Complex Operational Analysis ■ Adaptive Command, Control, and Communications ■ Enhanced Population Interface Operations ■ Information/Influence Operations ■ Psychological “Hearts and Minds” Operations ■ The Use of Surrogate Forces ■ Training Illiterate Foreign Fighters Additionally, the Irregular Warfare Centre can help develop or guide your own in-house educational curriculum or training initiatives.
