Unconventional Leader Development Programs

The Irregular Warfare Centre’s expertise in Irregular Warfare (IW) is an example of
unconventional strategic leadership capabilities for which the organization has developed
visionary and innovative strategies. These concepts are capable of being adopted and
tailored to support national interests that will successfully meet the needs of both
strategic and tactical leadership echelons.

In April 2006, the Deputy Secretary of Defense offered a definition of IW acknowledging
that responses will require “the full range of military and other capabilities to seek
asymmetric advantages in order to erode the adversaries’ power, influence, and will.”

In order to support the requirements to address IW in all its forms, the Irregular Warfare
Centre has developed specialized proprietary programs capable of the following:
