Lucas Vaughan is an active-duty U.S. Army Cyber and Electromagnetic Warfare officer. After graduating from Lubbock Christian University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, he enlisted in the Army as an Infantryman, served as a paratrooper in Alaska, and deployed to Kosovo. He later served as a Special Operations Civil Affairs NCO and deployed to Lebanon and Jordan.

Lucas commissioned through the Green to Gold Active Duty Option while earning a Master of International Development Policy and a Graduate Certificate in Middle East Studies from Duke University. His academic work focuses on development policy in strategic competition and draws on political economy and cultural topography to examine policy implementation in the Middle East, including research on institutional barriers to agricultural production in Egypt.
