Tanya Lim is a defence policy analyst at the Ministry of Defence, Singapore, where sheworks on strategic planning with a focus on Southeast Asia. She also serves as an Analyst inthe Wargaming Division at the Irregular Warfare Initiative, where she supports scenariodesign and simulation modelling for IWI’s annual tabletop exercises and custom wargamesfor government and special operations partners.

Her interests bridge computational social science and defence policy, with a focus oninformation resilience, regional security, and emerging technologies. She previously workedwith NATO StratCom to explore the use of large language models to model disinformation inunder-resourced languages and map Chinese and Russian disinformation narratives related toclimate change. She has also worked on Singapore’s online trust and safety policies andworked on mapping financial fraudulent networks using graph neural networks.

Tanya holds a BSc in Economics from King’s College London and an MSc in Data Sciencefrom Columbia University. She works primarily in Python and R, with experience in NLPand network analysis.
